Department Summary:
Marketing & Communications is responsible for management of the NYAM brand, developing and implementing organization-wide and individual unit strategic marketing and public relations initiatives as well as management of all digital properties including websites, social media and email. As an integral part of the public engagement efforts of NYAM, Marketing & Communications also contributes to creating engaging events and experiences for NYAM constituencies under the direction of the Senior Vice President of Public Engagement. Marketing & Communications also supports growth and management of key strategic alliances that further NYAMs mission.
Position Summary/Overview:
The Web Manager fills a critical operational role in the development and execution digital needs of the organization including website, microsites, email communications and related software programs. The Web Manager has strong technical skills, is a creative problem solver and has a track record of team contributions.
This position reports to the Director, Communications and Strategic Alliances.
All NYAM staff currently work on a hybrid schedule including remote and in-office days. This is subject to change.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and administer the NYAM web presence, including the organization’s main site, programmatic micro-sites, and ad hoc digital publications.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across divisions to develop web-based solutions for projects, reports, email campaigns, and event management.
- Manage constituency bulk email efforts including email creation/programming, scheduling/deployment, list building/management and tracking results.
- Manage registration software for all NYAM and partner events including event setup, reminders, calendar invites, etc. Ensure integration with other systems as needed (e.g., CRM, finance, development, etc.)
- Working collaboratively with IT and key stakeholders for email list creation as well as to ensure seamless interface between front-end and backend for event registration, constituency record keeping and information gathering, among others.
- Create and manage multimedia content including image slideshows, video uploads & embeds, audio files & embedded web content.
- Responsible for tracking, reporting and maintaining records of website, email and campaign performance.
- Play an integral role in Communications & Marketing team, providing insights on goal/plan development and execution in addition to the day-to-day functions of the position.
- Manage external web agency and liaise with other digital consultants as requires.
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of front-end design, HTML, CSS, Javascript/jQuery & best practices
- Working knowledge of social media & multimedia channels.
- Working knowledge of web & email accessibility & accessibility best practices.
- Experience with CRM integration such as Salesforce.
- Experience with web CMS, such as Django, WordPress, Drupal
- Experience with email management & delivery systems, such as MyEmma
- Experience with Google Analytics & Google Tag Manager
- Experience with SEO and SEO best practices for web, email & social media
- Experience with Office Suite applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently, move projects from strategy to concept, to launch, and handle multiple and often competing deadlines.
- Strong management, verbal and communications skills with the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain and communicate digital metrics, results, and recommendations to stakeholders with different levels of technical expertise.
- Strong problem solving, conceptual, technical, and interpersonal skills required. Demonstration of progressively responsible positions and a track record of success desired. Excellent analytical and communications skills are required for this position.
- Staff Academy public programming in-person, virtual and public events when necessary and collaborate on occasional intradepartmental initiatives and additional tasks/responsibilities as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in website management.
- Bachelor’s degree.
