Department Summary:

The Development Department supports NYAM’s mission by managing multiple revenue sources to meet annual fundraising targets.

 

Position Summary/Overview:

The Manager Annual Campaign and Stewardship is responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive annual giving program, identifying a steady stream of new prospects, and integrating ongoing stewardship and engagement strategies into the campaign. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Manager Annual Campaign and Stewardship joins a dynamic development team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated self-starter and creative thinker with the strategic depth to grow the annual giving base.

 

Annual Giving (40%) Drive the planning and execution of NYAM’s annual giving program through identification, retention and lapsed strategies and develop new opportunities for growth to meet fundraising goals. Strengthen NYAM’s donor pipeline by identifying new prospects and preparing biographical and financial profiles on individuals, foundations, and corporations.

Donor Stewardship and Cultivation (35%) Develop and implement a “high touch” stewardship plan and strategies for ongoing donor engagement focused on moving donors to higher levels of giving or engagement.

NYAM Connect Staff Liaison (25%) Work with a team of volunteer young professionals to attract more members and raise money for the Connect Fund.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Plan and execute all aspects of The Academy’s annual giving program to support acquisition, retention, and lapsed strategies to meet fundraising goals

Analyze giving trends and donor data to make informed decisions about current and future strategies to continuously strengthen relationships and grow revenue

Identify new prospects, develop donor profiles and strategies for engagement

Prepare the President, Trustees, Director of Development, and others by providing meeting memos and other materials for prospect and donor meetings

Implement a cultivation plan (programs, phone calls, personal letters, meetings, etc.) to keep donors and prospects interested and engaged.

Develop and implement a meaningful donor acknowledgement program and plan cultivation and fundraising strategies and events

Work collaboratively with Communications, Library and Fellows departments to advance mutual goals

Identify planned giving prospects

 

Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years annual campaign experience with a track record of success leading annual fundraising solicitation efforts and growing the donor base

Excellent interpersonal, organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to meet deadlines

Proficiency in Salesforce

Ability to network and be persuasive

Strong written and verbal skills

Collaborative, team-oriented work style

Commitment to NYAM’s health equity mission and to advancing an antiracist culture

 

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

 

Salary: $80,000 to $85,000
