Gingerbread NYC

Gingerbread Installation-2022

The Museum of the City of New York invited top bakeries and amateur bakers from across the city to enter Gingerbread NYC: The Great Borough Bake-Off —our first-ever holiday celebration of the communities in each of the five boroughs. Select bakers created a gingerbread display to represent their respective neighborhoods, inspired by the theme “Winter in New York.” A cohort of prominent New York City-based bakers, curators, and restaurant owners judged the final designs. Judges named an overall winner and awarded prizes in a variety of categories, such as: Best Borough (Most Representative, Sweetest, Good Enough to Eat, Grandest, and more.

Small Business Saturday weekend: Hot Chocolate Rides

Hot-Chocolate-Ride-East-Harlem

Calling all chocolate fans! After hosting a sold-out series last winter season, we're teaming up again with our friends at El Barrio Bikes for four weekends of bike tours that will have you sipping some of the best hot drinks across Harlem.  Ride leaders will share tips for riding during winter weather, all while rolling to some of our favorite neighborhood coffee shops. You'll brush up on how to gear up and be seen, keep the right tire pressure, and what to do if there's muck or ice.
