Created in 2012 by David Nocenti and a group of East Harlem’s community leaders, and currently coordinated by the Business Development Center, the East Harlem Community Alliance (EHCA) is a consortium of businesses, non-profits, religious organizations and governmental entities located in East Harlem and committed to working together to enhance the vitality and well being of this community. The Alliance will undertake joint projects and activities designed to address the needs of the community and serve as a forum through which member organizations can create connections, share information and continue to grow and thrive in East Harlem.

THE ALLIANCE’S FIRST PROJECT, AN EXPO, WILL BE HELD ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 20TH, 2015 SO

FREE and OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC, the EXPO’s purpose is to bring knowledge, information and resources to the residents, businesses and not-for-profit entities serving East Harlem. The Alliance’s mission to “Buy from East Harlem, Hire from East Harlem, Serve East Harlem and Promote East Harlem” will be evident in the workshops, speakers, resource material and events of the day. In addition to knowledgeable speakers who can give you critical information for yourself, your business or your organization, we will have loads of information about all that is available right here in your own community. We will also have refreshments and gift bags. Workshops will include marketing strategies for businesses and non-profits, available resources for businesses, Interviewing skills and Resume Preparation and on-site technical assistance for businesses, from the NYC Department of Small Business Services. The EXPO EVENT will be held at the Hunter College/Silberman Campus, located at 2180 Third Avenue (corner of 119th Street), from 9AM – 4PM.
